ContractSunplus is seeking a Construction Program Analyst for our gov client in Washington DC.
Description:
- The individual will be directly involved in all aspects of the design and construction phases of each project.
- In the design phase the candidate will focus on:
- Scheduling design meetings including the generation of meeting minutes and follow-up.
- Working with the Architect of the Capitol’s design teams to facilitate coordination.
- Verifying design drawings with site conditions and report discrepancies.
- Ensuring the coordination of complimentary disciplines so that all work is designed.
- Preparing and maintaining a detailed CAO project schedule. Coordinating the CAO project schedule with the Architect’s of Capitol’s schedule.
- Purposefully manage design timelines to ensure milestones are met.
- Assist during the bid process, while maintaining the highest level of integrity.
- In the construction phase the candidate will focus on:
- Construction contractor on-boarding after bid selection. This will include following the CAO’s procedures for badging and site access.
- Scheduling construction meetings including the generation of meeting minutes and follow-up.
- Construction submittal process quality assurance.
- Shop drawing review against construction drawings. Redline/comments compilation by discipline and resolution tracking.
- Coordinating presentation of samples and mock-ups by construction contractors.
- Request for Information (RFI) intake, routing, fulfillment tracking and acceptance.
- Contractor check-ins on the maintaining Shop Drawings as construction progresses.
- In-field inspection construction progress in disciplines that relate to Masterformat Division 27.
- Assistance with physically verifying drawings against actual equipment installed and documenting any discrepancies.
- Guiding all aspects, the archival process ‘as-built’ documentation.
- All other aspects of daily construction management.
Required Skills: CANDIDATE CAPABILITIY REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of construction development and planning processes, procedures, policies and practices.
- 4 years related experience or the equivalent in combined education, training & experience, however, a Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field and 3+ years of related work experience or equivalent in combined education, training & experience is preferred. Years of experience may be counted towards a degree and an advanced degree may be used to count for years of experience.
- Ability to utilize financial management systems to gather and analyze data, develop spreadsheets and recommend sound logical conclusions in relation to construction projects.
- Knowledge of contract administration governing construction.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences to include developing presentations.
- Ability to prepare and customize reports using various tools to create charts, graphs, spreadsheets.
- Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Experience working in historic buildings would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Three years knowledge of codes, regulations, policies and procedures related to construction management.
- Experience reviewing, understanding, routing, tracking construction requests for information in the areas of design coordination, construction coordination, constructability issues, timing/phasing, change in method, deleted scope, site conditions, material change/substitutions, incomplete plans/specifications.
- Three years’ experience utilizing AutoCAD, with a demonstrated ability use Bluebeam Revu.
- Ability to review work in field against construction drawings at different points in projects.
- Ability to climb scaffold, ladders and have current lift training certification for 1A and 3A.
Preferred Skills • Strong skill level in the use of computers and software applications to include full Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as MS Teams, Webex and Zoom.
- Construction Specification Institute certifications.
