JOB DESCRIPTION:

Manage major regional and out-of-state projects ensuring project profitability with appropriate quality standards while meeting customer deadlines. Demonstrate excellent customer service to ensure the total satisfaction of internal and external customers.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the timeliness, cost effectiveness, and quality of all assigned projects.
  • Manage the design, permit, survey, approval, fabrication and installation of signs and displays on assigned projects.
  • Review and interpret project information such as contracts, drawings, and estimates for thorough project understanding, process accuracy, and budget/cost limitations.
  • Interface with internal departments and outside resources to reduce the time from a sold contract to the entering of a work order in production.
  • Guide other Project Management team members (if available) in proper project planning and problem resolution.
  • Secure and oversee the ordering, shipping and receiving of out-source materials or labor required to properly complete a successful project. Establish work plan to ensure accurate management of the production and installation of sign projects.
  • Oversee on-site progress of jobs including on-site visits, attending on-site project meetings, and frequent communications with on-site crews. Attend weekly production meetings to represent your assigned projects and obtain status updates.
  • Initiate project progress meetings to discuss progress, problems, issues, deadlines, and delays on projects as needed. Communicate with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, other key outside parties, and internal departments as needed to successfully complete projects.
  • Ensure the creation of complete work order and change order documents for the timely completion of projects and the proper billing to our client.
  • Ensure other project documents such as purchase orders, construction drawing requests, permit and survey requests are completed in a timely manner as needed.
  • Track actual manufacturing and installation time of projects along with actual material and subcontractor costs.
  • Compare actual with estimated costs and conduct variance analysis with Manager of Project Management upon completion.
  • Consistently improve working knowledge of the industry and suggest better and creative ways of completing tasks.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With guidance from President adhere to established policies and procedures of Gelberg Signs.
  • Maintain open and effective lines of communications among all customers both internal and external.
  • To strive for continuous improvement in self, team, and company by seeking and suggesting enhancements to procedures, processes, and practices used at Gelberg Signs.
  • Project a professional image of Gelberg Signs to all customers, clients and working associates.
  • Ensure that all Gelberg Signs pre-and post-sales, financial, and personnel matters are handled with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor project manufacturing and installation time as consistent with estimated time.
  • Ensure purchased materials and services for the project are within budgeted project costs.
  • Monitor the timeline of the project to meet deadlines and avoid penalties and rush manufacturing costs such as excessive overtime.
  • Ensure the timely progressive and completion billing of all projects.
  • Ensure billable change orders are recorded and billed to the client or applicable party in a timely manner.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: (Specific Knowledge, Skill and Abilities to perform all of the above)

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple assigned projects and duties.
  • Ability to define problems by collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, WORD processing, and EXCEL spreadsheets.
  • Practical knowledge of design, project estimating, manufacturing, materials and installation processes.
  • Proficient numerical ability.
  • Knowledge of and skill in the application of Gelberg Signs designed computer programs and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret sales agreements, design drawings, blueprints, and miscellaneous signage sketches.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to present information and respond to questions from all interfacing departments, clients, customers, and the general public.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and speak.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, make color determinations, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • They may also be required to lift items.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
  • Occasionally job site noises will be very loud and protective ear covers may be needed.
  • Required to work in time bound pressure environment due to time requirements of clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
