We have a thriving Transportation & Infrastructure practice with a close-knit, team-oriented group that is growing rapidly. Due to our success, we need to continue to add resources to assist with the delivery of our current extensive backlog of work. This backlog includes tasks associated with various infrastructure improvement projects for local agencies including WMATA, VRE, other transit agencies, railroads, DDOT, SHA, VDOT and other local agencies.

We currently have an opening in Washington, DC for a Senior Construction Manager in our Transportation & Infrastructure division to work on various transit, roadway, bridge, and utility rehabilitation construction projects. The successful candidate will support our current staff while assisting in growing the Construction Management and CEI practice to better service our clients in the Washington, DC Metro Area.


Responsibilities:

  • Serves as client representative for construction management and inspection services projects
  • Leads project planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, and safety
  • Chairs meetings, manages client relationships, and resolves issues with jurisdictional agencies
  • Develops and maintains project schedules and budgets, directs and mentors project staff, and ensures quality reviews are complete
  • Leads and manages activities on all project aspects including resolving issues associated with contract fulfillment and ensures contractor meet contract specifications, timetables, and budget
  • Manages change order processes, identifies project scheduling and cost variances, and implements recommendations for corrective action
  • Conducts research and prepares recommendations for complex project management, engineering, and construction problems
  • Assists senior management with operational decisions and business development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
  • 20 years minimum relevant experience as a project manager on transit and transportation construction management projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, abilities to, and/or hands-on experience in leading preliminary design, final design, and construction projects; governing agency engineering requirements, program/project policies and procedures; and, federal, state, and local transportation and transit administration regulations and policies


Desired Skills:

  • CCM Certification
  • Knowledge of local transit agency standards and specifications including VRE and WMATA
  • Inspection and Constrcuction Management expereince on large projects
