PCM Services, a commercial contractor in Beltsville, MD, which performs work across the DC/Baltimore metro areas, seeks an organized and energized team-player for a Superintendent in the Concrete Division. This role provides individuals with the opportunity to impact the entire organization and serves as a foundation for growth within the company. It provides exposure, training, and experience for professional achievement and development within the Concrete Division and across the company.
Overview
The Superintendent is responsible for the successful, safe, and profitable execution of jobs within the Concrete Division, in accordance with established gross profit guidelines, while building and maintaining strong customer relationships through highly-responsive service, reliability, and quality projects.
Responsibilities
Production Management
- Manage all Concrete Division jobs across the DC/Baltimore Metro Areas, supervising multiple foremen and their crews simultaneously.
- Direct and coach foremen to efficiently manage allocation of labor to bring about maximum profitability on jobs without sacrificing quality. Conduct or coordinate training as needed.
- Interview, hire, discipline and discharge field employees in the division.
- Participate in weekly Work in Progress production meetings with division managers, coordinators, and estimators to ensure new jobs are discussed and promptly scheduled.
- Oversee proper maintenance and cleanliness of all equipment and vehicles. Provide equipment maintenance training to crews as necessary. Maintain location records for each piece of company-owned and rental equipment. Arrange for rental equipment to be returned in a timely manner.
Safety, Compliance, and Training
- Train new field personnel. Ensure that all drivers within the division comply with company policies, including DOT regulations if applicable.
- Monitor safety conditions on job sites to ensure that OSHA requirements are met.
- Notify Safety Manager in the event of an injured worker, or accident or any incident involving company equipment or personnel. Submit required documentation in a timely manner.
Administration * Maintain complete and accurate records of hours worked by crew members. Notify Human Resources immediately if an employee should resign or be terminated, collecting all company equipment (including phone, access card, company credit cards, fuel keys, uniforms or other equipment).
Representation
- Act as company representative on job sites, meeting with customers when necessary.
- Ensure all workers and subcontractors represent company standards to promote a professional impression.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in field operations in a production/superintendent capacity.
- Previous experience working for a contractor in the concrete or paving industry or in a service trade environment is required.
- High school diploma and/or a combination of education, experience and training.
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
- Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug screen to obtain DOT medical card (at company's expense)
- Computer literacy in Excel, Word and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish
- Estimating experience
- Ability to read blueprints
- OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
